How to Request a Manual Review if Your Job Role Is Marked Not Eligible for an Enhanced DBS
Has our eligibility questionnaire told you that you are not eligible for the Enhanced DBS check level and you disagree?
Here’s what you need to do to go through the manual review process.
## Submit a manual review request
If you receive the result of Not eligible for Enhanced level of DBS and don’t agree with this decision, click **Request manual review**.

You will then need to complete the **Manual review submission form**.
This asks for the following information:
- What is the title of this job role?
- Provide a detailed description of this job
- Select the workforce you think this role is eligible for
- Select the barred list you think this role is eligible for
- Explain why you believe this role should be eligible for an enhanced level of DBS

Please fill out each section with as much detail as possible as this is crucial for the manual review process to be carried out by our Compliance team.
Once completed, click the check box to confirm the application has been provided accurately and then click **Submit for manual review**.

## What’s Next?
Once submitted, it will go through our review process with Zinc’s Compliance team.
They will review the information you provided against DBS guidance and other legislation that’s relevant to the role.
If any further information is needed, the team will reach out directly to who submitted the manual review via email for further information.
Depending on the role, this part of the process may take some time to resolve as there can be lots of back and forth between you, Zinc’s Compliance team, and even the DBS directly if needed. Please provide as much information as possible in the initial request to make sure it’s as smooth and fast as possible.
Once a decision has been made, you will be notified by email whether it is eligible for the Enhanced DBS check or not and what the eligibility criteria is. Once a role is approved, this is the final decision and the role can’t be updated. If any changes are needed to the role’s eligibility, you would need to go through the whole process again.

When the decision is made, this will be reflected within the product, so if it’s approved for example, you will see this within your DBS Job Titles and be able to add this to any packages.
If you are told it’s not eligible for the check, our team will explain why it is not eligible in an email response.
