How Long Does Zinc Retain Candidate Data?
Zinc deletes sensitive data after 120 days if the overall request is **complete** (All clear/Ready for review/Reviewed/Cancelled) or 180 days if the request is **not completed** from when the candidate first uploaded it to Zinc or unless the candidate agree on reusing checks or a company's data deletion policy requires a shorter period in which case Zinc will follow that policy.
Zinc retains the data required to keep candidate accounts open for the duration of our agreement.
Sensitive data includes:
- Date of Birth
- Address History
- Mistho Instant Employment Reference Data
- CVs uploaded as part of the CV check
- ID Documents
- Qualification Certificates
- DBS Certificates (via the Update Service)
- Self Certification (submitted by the candidate)
