## What is covered in the financial integrity check?
The Financial Integrity verification process provides credit check information on citizens and lawful residents of Finland. The data is gathered from Financial institutions (banks, credit unions, retailers), Public registers, Enforcement authorities, Tax authorities, and relevant public financial records.
The process is national, and the retrieved data includes the following information:
- Provides information on Individual payment defaults,
- Debt-related court judgments
- Negative Entries in Credit Status not related to a specific payment case
The verification leaves a soft footprint on the candidate's credit profile, but the verification will not affect the candidate’s creditworthiness.
The verification is conducted with the highest compliance standards, in accordance with applicable laws.
## What is the period covered by the check?
- The database provides real-time information by connecting directly to the official sources at the moment of the search. This means the results are retrieved instantly from the most up-to-date records available.
- Our partner does not store or maintain any personal data, the information is accessed only when a request is made, and it is not saved afterward. This approach ensures both data accuracy and compliance with privacy regulations.
## Is there any potential candidate footprint?
The verification leaves a soft footprint on the candidate's credit profile, but the verification will not affect the candidate’s creditworthiness.
## Restrictions, Exclusions, Limitations
- In Finland, individuals can set a voluntary ban on credits via the Positive Credit Register, the ban is visible only to lenders querying.
- Due to changes to the Credit Information Act entered into force on December 1, 2022; from this date, payment default notes will be removed from the register one month after the credit information companies have received information about the payment. Payment default entries have usually remained in the register for two to three years until now according to the Finnish Competition and Consumer Agency.
