How to Integrate Zinc with Vanta for Background Checks
## How to integrate Zinc with Vanta
**Please note that CV checks are only available directly on Zinc. Vanta cannot currently be used with packages containing CV checks.**
### Step 1: Generate your API key
1. Log in to your **Zinc account** and generate your **API token**.
2. Copy and paste the token into **Vanta**, then click **"Connect Zinc"**.
3. Once this step is completed, information will start flowing between the two products.
### Step 2: Connect Zinc in Vanta
1. After authenticating into **Vanta**, navigate to the **Integrations** page.
2. Locate **Zinc** by typing **'Zinc'** in the search bar or finding it under **'Background Checkers'**.
3. Click **"Connect"**, and you will be prompted to enter your **API token**.
### Step 3: View your checks
You can confirm that background checks are being completed by either navigating to the **People** page, clicking on an employee, and viewing **Completed Tasks**.
## What happens next
**Let Zinc work**
Zinc will contact your candidate via email and text, asking them to complete the background checks you have chosen. We will send automated reminders to ensure that you get your checks in good time.
**Track the progress**
You can view the status of each candidate’s checks in your ATS. We’ll notify you by email as soon as an individual check is completed.
**View insights**
View your candidate reports directly from your ATS to make better hiring decisions without leaving your ATS or HRIS.
