## Who is the source of criminal check data in Czechia Criminal Register ## What details are required from the candidate to submit the check - First Name - Last Name - Birth Date - Consent - **Shipping Company** - Once the candidate has shipped the documents, the shipping company name must be provided on Zinc so the shipping can be properly monitored. - **Tracking Number** - Once the candidate has shipped the documents, the tracking number must be provided on Zinc so the shipping can be properly monitored. - **Power of Attorney (PoA)** - Original notarised PoA in Czech/English language. It can be filled out by hand with blue or black ink or digitally but the **signature** must be handwritten (**wet signed with blue or black ink**). - The PoA can be notarised at the Notary Public/CzechPoint (this refers to any 850 post offices located throughout the country)/or a Czech Embassy. - For candidates out of Czechia and cannot legalise the signature at a Czech Embassy, the PoA must be apostilled and translated by a certified translator in case if Notary’s seal is in a language other than Czech prior to sending it to the Partner in the Czech Republic. - The Original notarised PoA must be sent to the following address: **JUDr. Ing. Jan Fišer, advokát Dukelských hrdinů 406/23170 00 Praha 7 Czech Republic** and a scanned copy provided to Zinc on submission. - Online notarisation/apostille is not acceptable. - In cases where applicant is not a Czech citizen and do not have birth number the space can be left blank. ## What is covered in the criminal check _The copy of the Criminal Record Certificate (Výpis z Rejstříku trestů) issued by the Criminal Register (Rejstřík trestů) of the Czech Republic has nationwide coverage including citizens and foreigners over 18 years of age._ _The issuance of the certificate is subject to the candidate’s explicit consent and is intended to serve one particular purpose indicated during the application process._ _The Certificate is requested and collected by our in-country partner who will visit the Criminal Register (Rejstřík trestů) of the Czech Republic. The certificate doesn’t have a specific validity and depends on the institutions who request this type of certificate that the document is issued no more than 3 months prior to its deposit and is issued in the Czech language. ### The role of the ECRIS in the processing of the Czechia Criminal Certificate The European Criminal Records Information System (ECRIS) is a decentralized information system that allows for the exchange of criminal records information between the Member States of the European Union. It aims to facilitate cooperation among national law enforcement agencies and judicial authorities in the EU to promote transparency and accountability in the criminal justice system to prevent criminals from evading justice by moving between Member States, which is essential in ensuring the proper administration of justice and the protection of public safety. As such, each Member State is obliged to consult ECRIS as part of its criminal record check.
