How to Add Overseas Addresses to Your DBS Address History
## Adding overseas addresses to your DBS address history
If you’ve lived abroad in the last five years, you can include those addresses in your DBS address history.
**Your current address must be in the UK** because the DBS posts your certificate there. Only your previous addresses can be overseas.
## Add an overseas address
1. Open your address history in your DBS check.
2. Add the address and choose the country it’s in.
3. Search for the address and select it from the suggestions, or fill in the fields yourself.
4. Complete the **Postcode** field. If your address doesn’t have a postcode, see the section below.
5. Enter the **month and year** you moved in and the **month and year** you moved out.
6. Repeat these steps for each address until your history covers the full five years.
## If the country doesn’t use postcodes
The **Postcode** field is required, so you can’t leave it blank. If you do not have a postal or zip code, **enter 000** in the input field to complete this step. Entering this **will not** cause delays or blocks in your DBS submission.
## Finish and submit
Once you’ve added all your addresses, you can submit your address history.
