What Does Checks Cancelled Mean?
If you click on your request link or reference request link and see **Checks cancelled**, this means your request has been cancelled by your employer or the reference request was cancelled by the person you are providing a reference for.
Zinc will not know why the checks were cancelled. To understand the reason in your specific case, please reach out to your recruiter/employer (or the person who requested the reference) directly.
If you think this is a mistake, check your email for any new emails from Zinc about a new check request or a new reference. This email should come from [checks@zincwork.com](mailto:checks@zincwork.com)
If you don't see a new email, contact your employer for a new background check request or contact the person you would like to provide a reference for directly as Zinc cannot issue a new request on their behalf.
