England & Wales DBS Criminal Record Check: Process, Requirements, and Coverage

## Who is the source of criminal check data in England & Wales? Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) ## What is the process in England & Wales? 1. The requesting party requests the check from the ATS or their Zinc account using the package set up with the level of DBS required. 2. As part of the DBS requirements, you will complete an address and identity check. These are a compulsory part of the DBS check process and will be added automatically to your package when DBS checks are selected. Address checks and identity checks are priced separately to the DBS check. See [What Documents Do I Need to Submit for My DBS Identity Check?](https://help.zincwork.com/hc/hm54ky7yrc/article/2c3242ed-what-documents-do-i-need-to-submit-for-my-dbs-identity-check) for accepted documents. 3. Automated instructions are delivered to you to complete an address and identity check. 4. Once your address and identity check is completed with a clear result, you are asked to provide your personal information in a web dynamic form. 5. Zinc submits the request to the DBS. 6. Zinc receives the results (digitally) and provides a signed digital report for your employer. 7. You receive an email to say the process is complete.
