What Does The ‘Clear’ Status Mean?

The green '**Clear**' status indicates that the check is complete and there's been no adverse results found on the check which warrants a review. However, we always recommend that you satisfy yourself with the full information that is returned on every check for your own peace of mind. Please note: we allow a 30 day grace period on reference start and end dates. For example, if the candidate provided a start date of January 2026 but the actual start date was December 2025, we would still mark the reference as clear. For the reference check, it can be marked **clear** despite some references still not being completed. This is because we've demonstrated that every reasonable attempt was made to complete the reference by contacting them 5x but we were left without a response on the request. ![zincwork_hc_images/what-does-the-clear-status-mean-1.png](https://storage.googleapis.com/public-fini-assets/zincwork_hc_images/what-does-the-clear-status-mean-1.png) You will also see a **green** check mark badge on the candidate's timeline next to any **Clear references** on a candidate's report. ![What Does The ‘Clear’ Status Mean?](https://zinc-fini-resource-storage.s3.eu-west-2.amazonaws.com/What+Does+The+%E2%80%98Clear%E2%80%99+Status+Mean%3F.png)
