How to Add a Background Check Stage in HiBob ATS
## Steps
1. Navigate to <https://app.hibob.com/home>
2. Click the button in the top left corner (it looks like a waffle 🧇 )
3. Click **Hiring** in the dropdown
4. Click **Settings** when you reach the Bob Hiring page
5. Click **Templates**
6. Click **Default hiring pipeline**
7. Click **Edit stages** in the right hand side of the screen
8. Click **Add stage**
9. Click Stage type to select the stage as **Verification**
10. Click **Background check** under Verification
11. Give the type a **Stage name** and **description** if needed. Then select the arrow to collapse this.
12. Once completed, click **Save** at the top of the page
13. A pop-up will appear, Click **Apply** to add this new stage in to your hiring pipeline.
## This stage has now been saved on your Default hiring pipeline
### To check this
1. Click **Job openings** on the left hand side of the screen
2. Click on a job opening you currently have on this page
3. Click **Background Check** to now see this new stage on HiBob
### To note
- To start checks, a **Verify** stage needs to be added to the Job Template. All triggers occur based on a candidate moving to a background check stage (within Verified). You cannot trigger checks if a Verify stage has not been created, or if a candidate hasn’t been moved to that stage.
- All package configuration and reviews of results has to be done within Zinc.
- You will need to review the check status within Zinc. You can move a candidate without review, but a warning pops up in HiBob.
- Statuses:
- **In progress**
- **All Clear**
- **Ready for Review**
