How to Access and Use Zinc's Price and Usage Reporting Feature
With our **Pricing and Usage** tab inside of Zinc's **Insights** page, you can now track your own check pricing and usage outside of just looking at your invoices.
## How to Find Pricing and Usage
To access the Pricing and Usage area of insights, click **Insights** on the side bar of your [Recruit](https://app.zincwork.com/recruit) account.
1. Click the **Reporting** tab.

2. Click **Price and Usage** under **Reporting**.

## How to Use Pricing and Usage
Now that you're here, you can start looking at your pricing and usage data.
Before you start, please note: **this report shows the checks you’ve requested and their associated prices. If you’re on a contract and exceed your contracted spend, overage pricing may apply and will be reflected in your invoice not on the Insights page. Please contact your Account Manager to understand how close you are to this limit.**
**This dashboard provides a *best-estimate* view of your live spend. Final pricing may vary based on contract terms, billing adjustments, or recent updates.**
First, you will find the below on the page.

At the top of the page you will see the following filters:
- **Date From**
- **Date To**
- **User Group**
These filters can be used to tailor your data from and to a specific date range and within a specific group of users if you have groups set up.
📌**If you add in the Date From filter to a time before you renewed your contract with Zinc, the data won't be visible to you.**
**If you've not renewed, you can see all check pricing from when you signed up to Zinc.**
On your selected data set, the columns will show as the following:
- **Candidate Name**
- **Date requested**
- **Package**
- **User Group**
- **Total Cost**
- **Criminal Check**
- **CV Check**
- **Credit Check**
- **Education Check**
- **Directorship Check**
- **Financial Check**
- **Address Check**
- **FCA Check**
- **Social Media Check**
- **Sanctions Check**
- **Self Certification Check**
- **Right To Work**
- **Pep Check**
- **Adverse Media Check**
- **ID Verify**
- **Reference Check**
- **Invoicing Currency**
Each row will show you a specific candidate's request from a certain package and scrolling along will show you the total cost and the individual costs for each specific check.

## How to Read the Pricing and Usage Report
This report shows a **live estimate of your projected spend**.
It includes **all requests that contain checks we charge for**, along with their **estimated prices**. For each request, the **Total** column shows the **current estimated total cost** of all checks in that request. Because checks can still change status, **this report can change at any time**.
Here’s why 👇
### What Requests Are Included
We show **all requests**, regardless of status:
- **In-flight (candidate hasn’t finished yet)**
- **Completed**
- **Cancelled**
### How Pricing Works for *In-Flight* Requests
For in-flight requests, we show the **default price** you would pay **if the candidate completes the check**.
- If the candidate **never completes the check** and **you cancel the request**, that charge is **removed** and it won't display.
- If the candidate **does complete the check at any point**, the charge applies and stays.
- Some checks **cannot have an exact price until the candidate completes them**. In those cases, we show a **placeholder/default price**.
**Example**:
- A criminal check may initially show **£32.00**
- If the candidate completes it and it turns out to be an **Australian criminal check**, the price updates to **£85.00**
This is why prices can change while a request is still in progress.
### Cancelled Requests Can Still Have Charges
If a request is cancelled **after some checks were completed**, you will still be charged for **those completed checks and they will be visible on the page**.
### You Must Cancel Requests to Stop Charges
If a candidate is no longer going ahead, you **must cancel their request**.
Until a request is cancelled:
- **All requested checks will continue to show prices**
- **Charges may still apply if the candidate completes a check**
### What Prices Exactly Are Applied?
All of your checks are always displayed with your current contract pricing. So, for example, if you had a different set of pricing in 2025, but it changed for 2026, we will **display recent and historical checks at 2026 prices**.
### Can I Ever See an Exact Final Amount?
Not always — and that’s expected.
Because:
- **Candidates can complete checks at any time**
- **Candidates can drop out**
- **Prices for some checks depend on what the candidate actually completes**
…the data is **constantly moving** and can change minute-by-minute.
### What This Report *Does* Tell You
Think of this report as:
**“If every candidate currently in the system completed all their requested checks, this is the approximate amount you would pay x".**
It’s a **best-possible**, **live estimate**, not a final invoice.
#### Some Final Things to Note about the Pricing You Can Find
- Multiple criminal checks will be added up to a total cost in the **Criminal Check** column
- **Overage check pricing is not accounted for**
- **Due to the country-specific nature of pricing and its reliance on candidate input, we will default to UK prices when a country has not been inputted yet**
- Reverted checks won’t be charged for.

## How to Download Pricing and Usage
To download the data here to a spreadsheet or PDF:
1. Click the **...** icon in the top right corner of the Check usage & cost data sheet.
2. Press **Download results**.

You can download the spreadsheet into **CSV, XLSX, or JSON** formats and choose to maintain Zinc's formatting or remove it.

To download the data as a PDF, click **Export tab as PDF**.
