## What is covered in the financial integrity check?
Our provider accesses TransUnion Colombia to conduct Bad Payment History verification in the country. The process provides negative credit information related to late payments, defaults, and/or unpaid debts concerning both Colombian citizens and lawful foreign residents.
This data can come from banks, credit card issuers, telecom companies, cooperatives, retailers, or other financial institutions, and the check is conducted with the consent of the individual.
The check has nationwide coverage.
The verification leaves a footprint on the candidate's credit profile, and the check may affect the individual's creditworthiness.
The verification is conducted with the highest compliance standards, in accordance with applicable laws.
## What is the period covered by the check?
- The "Ley de Borrón y Cuenta Nueva" (Law 2157 of 2021) in Colombia established a financial amnesty regime that ran from October 29, 2021, to October 30, 2022. It allowed individuals to clear negative entries in credit bureaus automatically if they paid off outstanding debt during that period, creating a clean credit record without having to submit a request. Due to this law, the visualisation of obligations is limited to a maximum of 4 years.
- Please note that companies report the previous month's data during the first 10 days of each month. For example, if today is July 9, there will be access to information from May and earlier, going back up to four years.
## Is there any potential candidate footprint?
Yes. The verification leaves a footprint on the candidate's credit profile, and the check may affect the individual's creditworthiness.
## Restrictions, Exclusions, Limitations
