Understanding Your Right To Work Results in the UK

## If You Have Multiple Nationalities If you hold more than one nationality but the form only lets you select one, choose the one you will use to prove your right to work. - **For example, a UK Right to Work check:** if you are a **British citizen**, select **United Kingdom** as your citizenship so you can provide the correct documentation to prove your citizenship within the UK. ## UK Citizens If you're a UK citizen, you can complete your right to work on Zinc using any of these documents: - **A valid British or Irish passport** - **A British birth certificate and proof of your National Insurance number** - **A British certificate of naturalisation stating you are a British citizen and proof of your National Insurance number** - **A British Adoption certificate and proof of your National Insurance number** When you upload these documents to Zinc, you'll get one of two results: ### ✅ Clear Result If you upload a valid (not expired) British passport, you'll get a "Clear" result. This is great news! It means: - Your passport was successfully checked by Zinc - Everything looks good on your profile - You don't need to do anything else ### ⚠️ Consider Result If you upload a UK/Irish birth certificate, naturalisation certificate, or adoption certificate with National Insurance proof, you'll get a "Consider" result. Don't worry - this doesn't mean there's a problem! It simply means: - Your employer needs to review your documents manually - This is normal and follows government rules - Your right to work in the UK is still valid ## Non-UK Citizens If you're not a UK citizen, you can prove your right to work using: - A Share Code (from the government website) - Immigration documents Just like UK citizens, you'll get either a Clear or Consider result: ### Clear Result If your Share Code has no restrictions, expiry dates, or special conditions, you'll get a "Clear" result. This means everything is approved and you're all set! ### Consider Result You'll get a "Consider" result if: - Your Share Code has an expiry date, or; - Your Share Code any restrictions or conditions, or; - You uploaded immigration documents instead of a Share Code. Again, don't worry! This doesn't mean your right to work is invalid. It simply means your employer needs to take a closer look at your documents and take notes on any dates or rules that apply to your visa.
