Germany: Acceptable Documents for Right to Work Verification

To perform a right to work check in Germany, the following documents can be accepted. ## Natural Citizens - **German Passport** - **EEA and Swiss Passports** - **National Identity Card** - **Certificate of Citizenship** A German passport or a National Identity card for a German citizen will produce a **Clear** result. Other documentation provided will produce a **consider** result. This is flagged to your employer for review as they will need to complete the check manually. - This **does not** mean your legal right to work in the country is not confirmed or your document is not valid. It simply means your employer needs to take a few extra steps to review the documents provided. ## Foreign Nationals ### EEA and Swiss Nationals - **National Identity Card** ### All Non-EEA and Swiss Nationals - **Electronic Residence Permit (eAT) Card** - **Aufenthaltserlaubnis - Limited Residence Permit** - **Niederlassungserlaubnis - Permanent Residence Permit** - **EU Blue Card - issued at least 18 months ago** - **EU Permanent Residence Permit** - **Settlement Permit** - **Family Reunification Permit** - **Asylum Residence Permit** - **Refuge 1951 Convention Documents** All of these documents will produce a **Consider** result.
