## Who is the source of the criminal check data in Bahrain?

## What is the process in Bahrain?
1. You request the check from the ATS or your Zinc account.
2. The candidate receives automated instructions to provide some personal details and an ID copy in a dynamic web form.
3. Zinc submits the request to the authorities.
4. Zinc receives the results (digitally) and provides a signed digital report.
5. The candidate receives a notification to say the process is complete.
## What details are required to submit the check?
- First Name
- Last Name
- Birth Date
- Consent
- **Passport/ID Copy**
- **For citizens:**
- Bahrain Passport or Bahrain ID card where Personal/CPR number (9 digits) can be found.
- In case of no Bahrain ID, the applicant can provide a Bahraini Residence Permit.
- **For foreigners:**
- Bahraini Resident card OR Bahraini Temporary Population Card where Personal/CPR number (9 digits) can be found.
- Please note if a copy ID is not available please provide the Government ID number (9 digits). Please note that the applicant can also provide an expired Resident Card.
## What is covered in the criminal check?
This Criminal History Bahrain verification has nationwide coverage, including citizens and foreigners over 18 years of age. The provision of the results is subject to the candidate’s explicit consent and is intended to serve one particular purpose indicated during the application process.
The verification is requested and provided by the Public Prosecution of the Kingdom of Bahrain.
The reporting contains information on all the following criminal convictions or offences, except those deleted by rehabilitation laws or considered spent:
- Offences against the constitution (e.g., electoral offences, corruption, trespass, etc.)
- Misuse of public force
- Offences committed by public servants
- Offences against the public interest
- Offences against the private interest
- Offences against the public authority, influence, fraud, perversion of justice, refusal to assist justice
- Disobedience to judicial orders
- Obstruction of public service
- Offences against state guarantees
- Usurpation
- Guarantee of the national economy
- Felonies and misdemeanours against the general interest (e.g., public safety, offences against the public peace, public economy, public health, public decency; public worship)
- Felonies and misdemeanours against the private interest (e.g., killing, harm, intentional force, private liberty, sexual offences, personal tranquillity, confidence, property, insolvency, children, and family)
- Simple offences
According to the Penal Code of Bahrain, petty crimes where only a small fine is involved can be considered minor crimes and Zinc will not report the same (examples include crimes committed by juveniles where punishment is under three years, petty traffic violation fines, etc.).
## Restrictions, exclusions, limitations
Due to privacy laws, there might be restrictions in accessing case information that the parties to the case have explicitly prohibited the public disclosure of.

## Period covered by the check
The records are kept based on the legal prescription and rehabilitation periods applicable for each type of conviction provided by the local regulations in Bahrain but for correct reporting purposes, we will report only 7 years back cases.
