## Who is the source of financial integrity check data in Hong Kong?

## What is the process in Hong Kong?
1. The requesting party will request the check from the ATS or their Zinc account.
2. Automated instructions are delivered to provide some personal details and complete a form in a dynamic web form.
3. Zinc submits the request to the authorities.
4. Zinc received the results (digitally) and provides a signed digital report
5. The candidate receives a notification to say the process is completed
## What details are required to submit the check?
- **First Name**
- **Last Name**
- **Birth Date**
- **Consent**
- **Passport/ID Copy**
- A copy of the identity document (HK ID/Passport copy). Expired documents are not accepted.
- _**For Citizens**_ **:**
- A valid HK ID copy
- _**For Foreigners:**_
- Passport or HK ID copy.
- If a foreign national holds a valid Hong Kong ID document, the preference is given to HK ID.
- **Specific Application Form**
- Consumer Credit Report Access Form.
- The form may be completed either electronically or by hand (printed and signed); however, the signature must be handwritten (wet signature with a pen). Typed or digital signatures are not accepted.
- Notarisation is not required.
- While completing mailing address in the form ensure to include room/ floor/ block number along with full address.
- Please ensure that the Chinese name is entered when filling out the form, if it appears on the HKID copy. **It is mandatory that both the Chinese and English names match exactly as shown on the HKID.**
## What is covered in the financial integrity check?
The Financial Integrity verification process in Hong Kong provides financial information on citizens and foreigners, extracted by a local partner, with the explicit consent of the individual, through the online database of TransUnion HK.
The credit information is provided by members of TransUnion Hong Kong (including banks, financial companies and credit card issuers), and it covers individuals who have applied for credit cards and loans through banks and financial institutions (members of TransUnion) in Hong Kong (i.e., Nationals and Foreigners).
The process has a nationwide coverage.
The result retrieved includes the following information: individual's personal information, credit account information, information on credit score, loans and credit cards.
## What is the period covered by the check?
Coverage by the source goes back to:
- Current credit card and personal loan records
- Up to five years from the date of account termination for normal closed credit card and personal loan records, as well as delinquent records
- Up to **eight years** for records for filed bankruptcy petitions and, **seven years** from the dates of legal proceedings for other public records and, **two years** for enquiries made by TransUnion members from the dates of such enquiries
## Restrictions, Exclusions, Limitations
- Only valid ID documents will be accepted, not expired ones.
- The check will be performed entirely on the information provided on the ID document.
- The check may return no credit information found if the candidate does not hold any bank account in Hong Kong
## Is there any potential candidate footprint?
This check does not leave a footprint that affects the candidate’s credit score. The only record is internal to TransUnion for compliance, but it does not affect future credit applications.
