How Zinc Manages Right to Work Checks When Initial Documentation Is Valid for a Limited Period
We are aware that, outside of the UK, additional steps may be required by recruiters to ensure that individuals have valid Right to Work (RTW) status.
For example, in some countries, individuals may be permitted to live and work for a limited period using only a full biometric passport, but are required to obtain additional documentation (such as a work permit or residence ID) to continue working legally beyond that period.
In such cases, Zinc accepts the passport as valid RTW documentation for the initial phase.
Beyond that, it remains the recruiter’s responsibility to confirm that the individual has secured any further documentation required to work legally in their specific location.
As RTW requirements vary significantly between countries, recruiters must ensure compliance with local employment laws.
At our current stage of development, Zinc is unable to incorporate country-specific RTW rules directly into the product.
