Can I Use a Bank Account Opening Letter for My Enhanced DBS Identity Check?

If Zinc asks you to complete **manual** identity verification for a Standard or Enhanced DBS check, you can use a UK bank or building society account opening confirmation letter as a supporting document, as long as it was issued within the last 3 months. **These are not accepted on Zinc through our address or identity check**. A bank account opening confirmation letter is a Group 2b document. It cannot be used on its own for a DBS identity check. You must still provide the full combination of identity documents requested by the organisation that asked you to complete the check. This also applies if you describe the document as a bank setup letter, bank account setup letter, or bank account opening letter, provided it is a UK bank or building society account opening confirmation letter issued within the last 3 months. If your document is older than 3 months, is not from a UK bank or building society, or does not clearly confirm the account opening, use another accepted manual identity document instead or contact the organisation that requested your DBS check. You can find additional documents that are acceptable for a manual identity check [here](https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/dbs-identity-checking-guidelines/id-checking-guidelines-for-standardenhanced-dbs-check-applications-from-22-april-2025).
