Can I Provide Documentation to Complete a Reference?

If your referee has not replied to the reference request **and** you cannot provide an alternative referee, you can provide some documentation to complete the reference manually. This can only be done after you've added the referee in as a reference request into Zinc. We don't recommend doing this unless you've reached this point, as this process is manual and takes some time to complete. If the referee hasn't replied, you can check out our initial steps [here](https://help.zincwork.com/hc/hm54ky7yrc/article/324e70af-what-to-do-when-a-reference-referee-does-not-reply) on what you can do to resolve this first **before** providing documentation. ## What documents you need At Zinc, we ask that you provide the following documents for the role you wish to provide documentation for: - First Payslip & Last Payslip - Copy of your Employment Contract/Leaving Letter These are our standards but you may want to check with your recruiter first to see if they prefer other documentation. ## How to send your documents Once you have these documents, send them to Zinc Support for review by live chat or email. Do not upload or submit them through the Zinc platform as part of the reference request, as there is no document upload step for this employment-period reference fallback. Our Support Team will need some time to review these and get approval from your new employer to use these documents. Once we've finished this review, we will let you know in a follow up message and the reference will be completed manually using the documents you provided.
