How to Prove Right to Work in the UK as a British Citizen
## Do you hold a British passport?
If yes, you can present this document only as proof of your right to work. Your passport must be valid to be verified digitally through Zinc. If you only have an expired passport, this will need to be verified manually by your employer and cannot be verified digitally.
Please note that the same does not apply to British National (Overseas) passports.
## Do you have a UK birth certificate?
- You can share a copy of your birth certificate and proof of your national insurance number
- And proof of NI number must be a official letter or document from a government agency (for example HM Revenue and Customs, Department for Work and Pensions, or the Social Security Agency in Northern Ireland) or previous employer, showing their name and National Insurance number
## Do you have a certificate of registration or naturalisation as a British citizen?
- You can share a certificate of registration or naturalisation as a British citizen
- And proof of NI number must be a official letter or document from a government agency (for example HM Revenue and Customs, Department for Work and Pensions, or the Social Security Agency in Northern Ireland) or previous employer, showing their name and National Insurance number
Please note that the same does not apply to a certificate of registration or naturalisation as a British Overseas Territories citizen.

You do not have enough evidence to prove right to work in the UK.
