Unified Referencing: Setup and Use Multiple Reference Types for Candidate Verification
With Unified Referencing, you are able to select multiple reference types and run them alongside each other on one candidate for deeper verification.

## How to turn Unified Referencing on
For an existing package:
1. Navigate to **Packages**.
2. Click on the specific package you want to toggle this on for.
3. Scroll to the **References** section.
4. Select the check box for **Professional references** or **Regulatory references** and add your criteria.
5. Select the check box for **Employment Verification** and add your criteria.
Once these checks are on, you have Unified Referencing turned on for your package.
## The Candidate's Journey
If you have selected employment verification, your candidate will be asked to login to their government account and authorise Zinc to pull verified employment data in a single click. The candidate will then be redirected to nominate their professional or regulatory referees.
Once these references have been submitted, you will receive the completed references on the candidate's report for your review.
