I'm Still Working for Employer But I've Been Asked to Provide References for Them
If you have yet to inform your current employer that you are leaving the company and have been asked to provide references, we would recommend informing your new employer of this and holding off from providing the details of your most recent employment.
This is because once you have submitted a reference request, your referee will be immediately contacted to provide a reference for you.
You can complete Instant Employment Verification via a supported tax or government authority if you are able to in the meantime as no referees are contacted in this process.
Instant Employment Verification through a tax or government authority is currently available only in these supported countries:
- United Kingdom (excluding Isle of Man or the Channel Islands)
- Spain
- Ireland
- India
- Netherlands
- Mexico
- Brazil
- Philippines
If your country is not listed, you may need to complete a traditional employment reference instead, where available.
