Sign-In Issues for HMRC Account and Manual Entry Option for Instant Employment Verification
If you can’t find your Government Gateway user ID, try the following first:
1. Search your email inbox (and spam/junk folders) for **“Government Gateway user ID”**.
2. Use the GOV.UK recovery flow to recover your user ID: https://www.access.service.gov.uk/account-recovery/recover/userid/check-your-emails
If you are having issues signing in into your HMRC account for instant employment verification, the best solution would be to enter your references manually by clicking **I cannot get a Government Gateway ID** below the **Next** button on the Employment Verification page.

This will then take you to either provide HR references manually into Zinc or will move you to the next reference section depending on how your employer has set up your reference check.
