How to Integrate Zinc with Ashby ATS for Background Checks
## How to integrate Zinc with Ashby

### Step 1: Generate API key
1. Create a Zinc account and enter your payment details.
2. On the company settings page in Zinc, click **Generate API Key**, then copy the key.
### Step 2: Enable Zinc in Ashby
1. In Ashby, navigate to **Admin** and select **Integrations** from the left panel.
2. Find **Zinc** and click **Enable Zinc**.
### Step 3: Add key to Ashby
1. Paste the Zinc API key that you copied from your Zinc account into the **Zinc API Key** section in the Ashby app.
### Step 4: Select Zinc in assessments
See the option to add Zinc as an assessment, there are three available options:
- **Configure in interview plan**
- **Automatically add to hired stage**
- **Automatically add to offer stage**
## What happens next
### Let Zinc work
Zinc will contact your candidate via email and text, asking them to complete the background checks you have chosen. We will send automated reminders to ensure that you get your checks in good time.
### Track the progress
You can view the status of each candidate’s checks in your ATS. We’ll notify you by email as soon as an individual check is completed.
### View insights
View your candidate reports directly from your ATS to make better hiring decisions without leaving your ATS or HRIS.
