How to Check Whether an Email Is from Zinc
Zinc uses **checks@zincwork.com**, **contact@zincwork.com**, and **contact@zinc.work** for background check communications. For general support, email **contact@zincwork.com**.
A reference request may display:
`checks=zincwork.com@mg.zincwork.com on behalf of Zinc Background Checks <checks@zincwork.com>`
The `=` sign and “on behalf of” wording do not automatically mean an email is fraudulent. However, a familiar sender address, logo or reference number alone cannot prove that a message is genuine.
## Check an Email You Are Unsure About
1. Read the full sender address and check its spelling.
2. Confirm that you were expecting the request. Ask your employer, or the person who nominated you as a referee, using contact details you already know.
3. Open [Zinc](https://app.zincwork.com/) directly, or contact **contact@zincwork.com** independently, instead of using links or reply details in a suspicious email.
If you are still unsure, ask Zinc Support to review the message before sending documents or personal information.
