# Georgia Criminal Record Check
## Who is the source of criminal check data in Georgia?
The criminal record data is provided by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia.
## What details are required from the candidate to submit the check?
- First Name
- Last Name
- Birth Date
- Explicit Consent from the candidate
- Passport or ID Copy:
- Citizens: A colour copy of a valid National ID card or a valid Georgian Passport
- Foreigners: A colour copy of a valid Passport
### Letter of Authorisation (LoA) Requirements
- A colour copy of a handwritten Letter of Authorisation written in Georgian.
- The LoA must be clearly handwritten on a white blank piece of paper, in either English or Georgian, using the exact language provided in the official sample.
- The letter must be wet-signed in blue or black ink.
- The letter must have the title 'Consent' or 'თანხმობა' depending on the language (English or Georgian).
#### Specifics on Passport or ID details in the LoA:
- If a Georgian passport is provided as identification, either the passport number or ID number may be listed in the LoA.
- If a foreign passport is used as identification, the passport number must be mentioned in the LoA.
- If a national ID card is provided, the ID number must be specified in the LoA, and the name in the LoA must exactly match the name on the ID copy.
## What is covered in the criminal check?
The Certificate of Conviction ("ნასამართლობის შესახებ ცნობა") is issued by the Service Agency of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia. It includes nationwide coverage for both citizens and foreigners over 18 years old, based on the candidate's explicit consent and for the purpose specified during application.
The certificate is requested and collected by a thoroughly vetted in-country partner who physically visits the Service Agency.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs reserves the right to approve or reject issuing the certificate after careful assessment of the request.
The certificate contains information on all criminal convictions or offenses, excluding those deleted by rehabilitation laws or considered spent, covering:
- Crimes against life
- Crimes against health
- Endangering human life and health
- Crimes against Sexual Freedom and Sexual Inviolability
- Crimes against Human Rights and Freedoms
- Crimes against Family and Minors
- Crimes against Property
- Crimes against entrepreneurial or other economic activities
- Crimes in Monetary and Credit System
- Crimes in Financial Activities
- Crimes against the Interests of Service in Entrepreneurial or other Organisations
- Crimes against Public Security and Public Order
- Breach of Safety Regulations at Work
- Crimes against Public Health and Public Morals
- Crimes against Cultural Heritage
- International Crimes related to Cultural Heritage
- Drug-related Crimes
- Transport-related Crimes
- Cybercrime
