### How to Submit Your Criminal Check in Sweden #### Step 1: Log in or create your Zinc account Once your employer requests a criminal check, you’ll need to log in to your Zinc account. If you don’t already have an account, you must create one. Once logged in, confirm the following details: - Your full name (including name history if applicable) - Your date of birth - Your country of residence: Sweden - Address history for the past 5 years - Your consent #### Step 2: Provide your personal information You will need to supply the following details to initiate the check: - First Name - Last Name - Birth Date - Consent - Specific Application Form - The form can be filled out digitally; however, your signature should be **wet (signed with a pen)** - Do **not** choose the multilingual option - Do **not** adjust the fee or delivery addresses on the form - Complete every required field, including your foreign ID number if applicable, to avoid delays. - The field **Choose delivery method** should be **First class mail** - Current Address - Your **full current address**(in Sweden or abroad) The form is available for you to download a copy, fill in, and upload it back to Zinc within your criminal check request with Zinc. #### Step 3: Submit the check on Zinc Once all your information is provided, the check will be processed by our checking partner. If something else is required or there is a discrepancy, our Customer Support team here at Zinc will contact you directly to get your application corrected or gather further information from you. Once it's been submitted and accepted, the turnaround time of this check is, on average, 16 business days. There will be slight delays in case the authority conducts the ECRIS process with EU Member states if you are a citizen somewhere else in the EU or the UK and this can extend the turnaround time to 25 business days. If you are not a citizen of the EU or the UK, the check will follow the same process but without the ECRIS being included. #### Step 4: Receive the results of your check Upon completion of your criminal check, you will receive a notification from Zinc to say the process is completed via email. Only if records are found, a certificate is sent to your current address in case you need to share any further details with your employer.
