What Is Accept One Less Referee Response than Your Criteria in Reference Checks?
Inside of our reference check, you will find one preference you can toggle on in the package editor called **Accept one less referee response than your criteria** or **One-Less Reference.**
## What this is
Reference checks can take some time to complete but to make it even faster, we offer this feature where the reference check will be marked as **complete** when either 1 reference less or 1 year less than your criteria are completed.
We will still try to collect all submitted references but it just speeds up the process for you if you are happy with one referee less than your criteria.
This option is not available if the requirement is equal to 1 (year or reference).
