What Is the "Confirm your details" Section?
The **Confirm your details** section is the first thing you'll complete when you start a background check with Zinc. It gathers the core information we need before any of your other checks can begin.
## What You'll Need to Provide
You'll be asked for:
- Your **date of birth**
- Your **mobile phone number**
- Your **document name**, along with your name history and any name change documents
- Your **country of residence**
- Your **address history** — only if your employer has requested a criminal check
- Your **consent** for Zinc to process your data

## How It Affects Your Other Checks
Once you submit this section, everything else builds on it:
- Your name and date of birth are pre-filled across your remaining checks, so you won't need to enter them again unless requested to.
- Your country of residence determines where the rest of your checks are carried out.
- Your address history determines which criminal check (or checks) you need to complete, and feeds into the application itself.
## What If I Make a Mistake?
You can't edit this section once you've submitted it. If you've made a mistake, contact our **Support Team** and they'll reset the section so you can resubmit it.
## Do These Details Expire?
Yes, counting from when you created the request. If your request reaches **All clear**, **Ready for review**, **Reviewed**, or **Cancelled** status, your details expire 120 days after creation. If it never reaches one of those statuses, they expire after 180 days. Either way, once your details expire you'll need to re-enter them.
