How to Create a Candidate Note on a Package

When setting up or editing a package, you will see a section called **Candidate note** or **Note to candidates.** This may seem like an area to skip over, but it is the best way for you to connect with your candidates on any specific requirements you may need, maintain the tone of voice of your company, and reassure candidates if you haven't told them much about Zinc. ![how-to-create-a-candidate-note-on-a-package-1](https://storage.googleapis.com/public-fini-assets/zincwork_hc_images/how-to-create-a-candidate-note-on-a-package-1.png) ![how-to-create-a-candidate-note-on-a-package-2](https://storage.googleapis.com/public-fini-assets/zincwork_hc_images/how-to-create-a-candidate-note-on-a-package-2.png) For your candidate note, you may be thinking 'what should I do to make it better?', and we are here to provide you with some tips to make this section shine with an example at the end. ## Tips for creating your candidate note - Use this space to explain everything you absolutely need from the candidate for the background check in text format. - 4-5 lines of text works best for creating a simple candidate note. - Don’t provide lists- the formatting doesn't work well on Zinc or on email requests unless you have the Enhanced Note available. - Write in normal sentences with commas instead of bullet formatting. In summary: **be concise**, ensure you are providing the **necessary information you need**, and **don't provide any formatting** unless you have it available for you. ## Candidate note example By using these tips, you can create a beautiful candidate note that describes what you need from the candidate, maintains the voice of your brand, and reassures candidates when completing their background checks with Zinc like below. ![how-to-create-a-candidate-note-on-a-package-3](https://storage.googleapis.com/public-fini-assets/zincwork_hc_images/how-to-create-a-candidate-note-on-a-package-3.png) This message will show in the initial request email sent to candidates to complete their checks and in the platform for candidates to reference like below. ![how-to-create-a-candidate-note-on-a-package-4](https://storage.googleapis.com/public-fini-assets/zincwork_hc_images/how-to-create-a-candidate-note-on-a-package-4.jpg) That's it! You now have a custom candidate note that explains your requirements, reassures candidates, and maintains your branding when candidates use Zinc.
