A driving licence can be accepted for identity checks, including DBS checks, depending on the check level. It is not valid for UK Right to Work checks. ## United Kingdom (UK) Right to Work checks You cannot use a driving licence (including a provisional driving licence) for a UK Right to Work check. ## Identity verification for DBS checks with Zinc - For a **Basic DBS check**, a valid UK or Irish passport is all you need. If you don't have one, you can use a driving licence, foreign passport or national ID card on its own. - For **Standard or Enhanced DBS checks**, a driving licence can't be used on its own. You can use it as the second document alongside a biometric passport if you can't complete the passport chip scan, or as one of two documents if you don't have a biometric passport. If you have a biometric passport from an accepted country and an NFC-capable phone, you don't need a second document. This Standard/Enhanced DBS wording is for Zinc digital identity verification.
