Is a Driver’s License Acceptable for Identity Check?

A driver's license can be accepted for identity checks if you are not also completing a DBS/UK criminal record check; however, it is not valid for UK Right to Work checks. ## United Kingdom (UK) Right to Work checks You cannot use a driving licence (including a provisional driving licence) for a UK Right to Work check. ## Identity verification for DBS checks with Zinc - For a **Basic DBS check**, you are required to provide a UK passport if you are a UK passport holder. If you do not hold a UK passport, you must provide your valid foreign passport along with a second form of ID, such as your driving licence. - For **Enhanced** or **Standard DBS checks**, you must provide both your valid passport and a second form of valid photo ID. This second ID can be a driving licence or a national identity card. - When uploading any identity documents for verification, make sure to provide a live photo of the physical document, not a scanned copy. These identity requirements ensure proper verification depending on the type of DBS check you are undergoing. A driving licence alone is insufficient for the Right to Work check but can complement other documents for DBS identity verification.
