How to Set Up Enhanced DBS Checks with Zinc (accounts created after 16/03/2026)
**This article applies to Zinc customers whose account was created after 16/03/2026.**
1\. Navigate to [https://app.zincwork.com/packages](https://app.zincwork.com/packages)

2\. Click **Create new package**

3\. Click **Start with templates**

4\. You will notice all the Enhanced DBS check packages will be unavailable unless you've set up job roles first. Click **Set up job roles**

5\. Click **Create job role**

6\. Click **Start questionnaire** We will be filling this in with an example role of a Nursery Manager.

7\. After completing the questionnaire, you will be be provided with the result of if you are eligible for an Enhanced level of DBS, and what workforce and what barred list (if necessary).
You will need to confirm if you are happy with the results provided in the tick box and complete the declaration.
If your role is marked ineligible, you can follow our manual review process [here](https://help.zincwork.com/hc/hm54ky7yrc/article/ee157095-how-to-request-a-manual-review-if-your-job-role-is-marked-not-eligible-for-an-enhanced-dbs) before sending out any checks as our Compliance Team will need to review your eligibility further.
Click **Continue** once you've done this.

8\. Click the **Job role title** field and enter in your job title which for our role is **Nursery Manager**.

9\. Click the **Add a description of this role (optional)** field and add in your description for the role. Click **Create job role** once you've completed this.

10\. You have now created a job role! You can repeat this if you need to.
Once you are ready to create a package, click **Packages** on the left hand side of the screen.

11\. Click **Create new package**

12\. Click **Start with templates**

13\. Click on your preferred Enhanced DBS package template.

14\. Click **Use Template**

15\. On the pop-up that comes up, click **Use template**

16\. Add in your check package name and click **Continue**

17\. Select the checks you would like to add into this package and click **Continue**

18\. You will then see your job roles you have created so far. You can either select the roles individually or if you are adding all created roles to the package, click the tick box next to "Role". Click **Continue** to proceed.

19\. Add in your Recheck reminder if needed and click **Continue**.

20\. Customise your candidate note. Once completed, click **Continue**.

21\. You can then add in any group access you need and subscribe team members to the package. Click **Continue** once you're ready.

You are now all set up and ready to start requesting checks to your candidates!
