Armenia Criminal Record Check Process and Requirements

## Who is the source of criminal check data in Armenia? Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia ## What is the process in Armenia? The requesting party will request the check from the ATS or their Zinc account. - Automated instructions are delivered to provide some personal details and complete a Power of Attorney form in a dynamic web form - Zinc submits the request to the authorities - Zinc receives the results (digitally) and provides a signed digital report - The candidate receives a notification to say the process is complete ## What details are required from the candidate to submit the check? - First Name - Last Name - Birth Date - Consent - **Power of Attorney (PoA)** - Colour copy of a Power of Attorney filled out in Armenian language and wet signed (with a pen) in **blue or black ink**. - The candidate’s name in the PoA can be in Latin letters if the person is a foreigner and the content should be in Armenian Language. - The Signature in the PoA must match the signature in the ID document provided. - **Passport/ID Copy** - Valid Scanned Colour Copy of Passport/ID in **PDF format**. - **Citizens**: Valid ID Copy/Armenian Passport (First 2 pages). - **Foreigners**: Valid Passport (First 2 pages of passport) - **Address** - Current Address of the Candidate where the candidate lives (In Armenia or abroad). - The address provided by the applicant does not necessarily need to match the address in the ID/Passport Copy. - **Country** - Please mention the country where the Criminal Certificate will be used ## What is covered in the criminal check? The copy of the Criminal Record Certificate issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia has nationwide coverage and includes citizens and foreigners over 16 years of age. The issuance of the certificate is subject to the candidate’s explicit consent and is intended to serve one particular purpose indicated during the application process. The Certificate is requested and collected by our in-country Partner who visits the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and has been thoroughly vetted according to our highest Partner Management policies and compliance standards. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia reserves the right to issue or reject the issuance of the certificate after careful assessment and scrutiny of the nature of the request. The Certificate contains information for all the following criminal convictions or offences, except those deleted by rehabilitation laws or considered spent: - Sexual offences - Offences against children - Offences against public order - Terrorism, offences related to firearms and other weapons - Offences against the administration of Law and Justice - Offences against the person and reputation - Offences against rights of property, fraudulent transactions relating to contracts and trade - Offences related to wilful and forbidden acts in respect of certain property, wilful and forbidden acts in respect of certain property - Offences related to illicit drug use The legal prescription of a sentence varies, depending on the type of offence committed and the sentence pronounced. ## What is the expected turnaround time? [Here.](https://zincwork.com/turnaround-times) ## Period covered by the check The records are kept based on the legal prescription and rehabilitation periods applicable for each type of conviction provided by the local regulations in Armenia. All the records are maintained by The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia.
