How to Create a New Check Package in Zinc
The first step is to ensure you are signed into the Zinc app and have either **Admin** or **Recruiter** access.
When you are signed in, go to the section **Packages**.

Once within the **Packages** tab, click the button **Create new package** and you will be taken to the following page.
You can decide whether to create a package using **Start with templates** or **Create your own**.

- Templates are the fastest way to set up and you can choose a pre-made package that works for your business/industry made by some of our very own customers.
- Once you've picked your template, click **Use template**.

- Creating your own allows you to create a new package with checks that you pick for your needs.
Once you've selected the template you want to use **or** decided to create your own package, proceed to enter the name of your new check package.

Then, select the checks that you want to toggle **on** or **off** for this package.

If you select to add the **Reference** check, you will need to pick the criteria and define the number of references and/or the number of years checked in this reference check. This will **only** appear if you select the **Reference** check.

After selecting the checks, you can add in a **Recheck reminder**.
You’ll receive a notification to recheck candidates checked with this package if you select one of the options or you can select **Don't remind me** if you don't want to add rechecks.

Once you have submitted the recheck reminder for this package, you can then read and edit your **candidate note**.
This note will be the text that is displayed to candidates when they are invited to complete their background checks.

You can edit this text box as this is a great opportunity to add your company's personal spin on the request. It's also worth adding in here any specific instructions you want the candidates to follow for any of the checks.

Once you are happy with the text that's added, click **Continue** and you can add in any **Group access** if needed to limit who can view and edit this package and select any team members who need to be **notified** to updates about his package.
These options aren't required so you can click **Continue** if you don't need to add any of these into this package.

### Publish to community (optional)
When you see **Publish to community** (often shown at the top-left while creating or editing a check package), it means you can make your package available for other Zinc users to use as a **template**.
What will **not** be published:
- Candidate notes
- Notification subscribers
Important notes:
- This is a **one-time** action. Changes you make later to a modified package won’t be shown in the published template.
- If you agree to publish your template, your **company logo** will be displayed.
After clicking **Continue**, this package will be created and saved within your packages ready for you to use for future requests.
